Default Makeup Myth

Time to bust another myth.

Eye makeup will not harm your eyes as long as it doesn't actually *touch* your eyes.

My work here is done.

While makeup won't damage your eye, it will collect on the lens. Particularly with women, duh. The PVP in Hydraclear, that's what Lacreon Technology is, is a magnet for lipids, the basis for most makeup. It will cake up and cloud your vision. Best to stay away from Hydracrud.

I could be wrong, but if your makeup can actually "cake up and cloud your vision," you're either wearing too much makeup or not replacing your contacts often enough. Right?
What about powdered makeup? Do those have a lot of lipids that can't resist sticking to Hydraclear?

As long as you don't get any makeup in your eye and you aren't allergic I don't think it is related to the lenses at all.

I find that I just am careful with the makeup around the eyes. But the damage to the lens is the same as the damage would be to the eyes without lens. Am I wrong?

Logically, wouldn't there be slightly LESS damage if you had a lens in? As long as you took it out right away, anyway? That's a portion of your eye that was covered from exposure to the makeup, after all.

I'm so glad I don't have to worry about this stuff.

I dunno. To me that's like the difference between severe pain and excruciating pain.
