Default 1-Day Acuvue TruEye on the Job

Is there anyone here who wears their 1-Day Acuvue TruEye contact lenses while they're at work? Is there any reasons why you wouldn't want to wear glasses there?

Not those particular lenses, but I certainly do wear daily contact lenses at work most days.

Reasons I don't want to wear glasses there? Well, the same reasons I don't want to wear glasses anywhere:

Vanity - I think I look better without glasses
Glasses in my prescription are quite heavy
Glasses get dirty and need cleaning
Glasses slip down and need adjusting
If I'm working outdoors and wearing contact lenses, I can park my sunglasses on my head when I don't need them. If I'm wearing glasses, I need prescription sunglasses and I always seem to be switching between sunglasses and regular glasses - a hassle.
I'm sure there are more reasons but perhaps that's enough to be going on with...

Well, that's certainly a good list Amanda. It didn't take long for you to reply to the posting. Thanks for answering.

Just trying to be helpful. I think this is a useful forum, but in danger of being neglected if people don't take the trouble to reply to questions here. (The structure of the forum doesn't help, but I've commented on that elsewhere....)

I couldn't find your other post about the structure of this forum, but I think it would be a good idea if people got some kind of email notification or something that their posting has gotten a reply. Is that what you said?

Okay, do we have any classic rockers who thought of a song when they read the my title?

Click on "quick links", then "edit options" and you can set up that very thing.

Oh yes. There is no dark side of the moon. As a matter of fact, it's all dark.

Yeah, only half of the moon is dark. So when we see a New Moon here on Earth, the "dark side" is brightly lit.

Oi.

I did a Google search for "new moon" and got pages and pages of Robert Pattinson & crew before I finally searched for "new moon phase."

I'm not a teenage girl so I have no use for that show. Here's an actual new moon phase.

To all those Pattinson fans who have just joined us, welcome. How was your Google search?

New moon phase.

I wear my contacts for my volunteer work. I'm involved in river clean ups and the last thing you want when you're thigh deep, hauling junk out of a river is to have your glasses slip off. It also avoids them getting scratched or damaged or my vision being distorted by water getting on them.

Good for you, for wearing contact lenses and cleaning up the environment.

Just don't get any of that river water in your eyes. Goggles anyone?

Very funny, Jurassicmark. Do you think that anyone would admit to coming to Lens 101 hoping to see pictures of Pattinson?

Yeah, I think they would. Especially if they thought they could get a laugh. There are some pretty funny posts on this forum.

Yes, losing your glasses in the muck wouldn't be nice.

But personally, I think I would wear glasses to avoid getting something splashed in my eyes. One could (of course) wear protective goggles/glasses with contacts.

Look at that. Lens 101 members do volunteer river clean ups. You rock, KatKatKat.
