New Contact wearer

I've never worn contacts before and hear these are a good brand. Can anyone affirm this?

Hi there,

I have been wearing lenses for 20 years, and for my part Accuvue never did fit me, and I have try many kind of Accuvue, so the best brand for me is Proclear 1-day or 15 days.
Their is something in Accuvue that make me allergic (it could be the silicone that they ar made with). Any way just try them and if you see that your eyes become red. STOP for a few days and try another brand. Each person is different. One more thing, when you first try them, have you doctor give you a sample to try. They all have them in their office.

As suggested above, I would give them a try first using a sample. I think one a days are a good way to start for new contact lens users. They will assure you sterility and a level of cleanliness that cannot be beaten by other longer usage contacts.

Some people do well with one brand others with others. The only way is to try them out for a whole day and report any signs of irritation to your eye doctor. Best of luck!

I never had a problem with them, but I'm all for trying out other brands too. So just give them a try, if you find them perfect then you don't have to do anything else.

Many people have different view on contact wear. It will be better for you to try them on your own. I have good experience with these brand of contact however other might have different perception too.

I have been wearing lenses for 2 years, and find it much better than glasses.

Just less worries of breaking anything, and I haven't ever lost a lens.

Though I've scratched a few.

Just got to try it out.

So, if someone has never worn contacts before, it's best to start with daily disposables, right?

That makes sense, a fresh new lens each day, but what about having to put your contacts in and take them out every day? Isn't that a bit much for a newbie? Wouldn't it be better to have contacts that you only have to fool with once a week or so?

I would personally say that the daily disposables would be much more suitable for you. You've not got to worry about the hassle of using cleaning solutions - there were many times when I used monthly ones where I did not leave the lenses in the neutralising solution for long enough and ended up with stinging eyes from the cleaning solution.

Also being able to throw them away at the end of the day is fantastic if you're coming home from a late night out and don't want to spend time cleaning them!

for one i like it since it was disposable ..no fuss for cleaning(of which i really hate doing so) and it suited me well..i mean the convenience, comfy and the likes compare to my previous eyeglasses.. and of course the most part is the rebate when buying it..

Yup! They're a good brand of contact lenses. They have actually improved you know. They made their contact lenses more comfortable now and easy to use.

Ouch! This was the first time I've heard of someone getting allergic reactions through the use of Acuvue lenses. Oh well, I guess everyone sure is different huh?

You know that's the sad part about it. I mean, is there really no means of testing them out if they will irritate your eyes or no or do we really have to try them and suffer the consequences if we're unlucky.

What I don't understand is why some people are having allergic reactions to it? Aren't these lenses tested and should be known if there's anything that might cause allergic reactions to people who would use them? Shouldn't they also test that as well?

You know I've been using this one for a long time now and so far it does not fail me.

i think it was tested..but since we are unique in a way we really cant avoid on this one..maybe its the way they put it on that makes it more complicated..who knows..

Thanks for the personalized review, Denn. I'm glad to hear from someone who actually wear these contacts. I feel a little lame when I say "I've heard that they're good." Too bad they didn't work so well for you, but at least you have Procear 1-Day. I've never heard of the 15-day lenses, though. Is that what they're called? "Procear 15-Day Disposables" or something?
