I've read a lot of reviews that say that 1-Day Acuvue is the best lens ever. What do you think?

Default Another Reason Not To Wear Acuvue 1 A Day More Than One Day

I read that not only do daily contacts pick up germs, but they also don't hold their shape very long.
So if you're thinking of trying to stretch your dollars by wearing your Acuvue 1 A Days for two or three days, you probably won't be able to see through them anyway.

They are expensive in the long run, but they worked very well for me.

1 Day in my opinion are great because of they are disposable and you can throw them out without cleaning them----but in the long run--I think they are more expensive then just having a pair to clean with solution.

I like having the disposables that you can just toss out, it seems somehow safer than keeping them in several days. I am blind in one eye, so whenever I would wear contacts (contact -s) I always had twice the contacts for the price. Of course that was going against doctors orders NOT to wear contacts at all. But even so, all the more reason to wear the 1 day disposables.

They don't hurt your one good eye? Are you 100% blind in your other eye?

I am 100% blind in my other eye. I only wear them on "special occasions" like going out on dates or special events, evenings out, etc and such. I don't wear them on a daily basis. When I'm working and using the computer and such, I wear my glasses.

That is interesting---Did you have injury to that eye--if you don't mind me asking.

Are you in danger of losing eye sight in the other eye?

1 day disposable are fine for me if they are used occasionally where as for the longer run i would go with the regular contact lenses

I have normal (mostly) vision in my good eye. When I do wear a contact it is considered AMA (against medical advice) so I wouldn't advise people to do that. The eye doctors tell me that the glasses act as another level of protection for my good eye. But other than that, I have no other danger of losing sight in that eye. I was born blind in one eye, it's part of a congenital birth defect, but no one can really tell by looking at me (until I run into things on that side, lol)

So, when I do wear a contact, I only wear them on occasion, usually special occasions when I don't want to wear glasses, and usually then only for a couple of hours or so.

Thank you for sharing your story with me. My ex mother in law often runs into things also. She is 100% blind though---lost her eye sight slowly---but I watch her and you would never know she was blind. I guess when she was losing her vision though--she would run into things because her side vision went first (I know there is another name for it--but my mind is blank right now..lol)---She gets around well though--she is amazing to watch.

I think the term you're looking for is "peripheral vision." Is that correct?
