The white deposits that form on contact lenses is protein. It occurs naturally in your tears and builds up over time on your contact lenses. When I was reading about it, the process reminded me of an oyster covering a sand particle with pearl. Perhaps this protein thing is similar.

Bottom line . . . don't wear 1-Day Acuvue contact lenses for more than one day.
