I found this definition of neovascularization: "Neovascularization is a condition of the cornea where blood vessels start to grow into the otherwise clear and translucent cornea. A common cause is anoxia - lack of oxygen from wearing
contact lenses that do not breathe."
These new blood vessels grow across your corneas and never go away. Even when your eye start getting enough oxygen, blood no longer flows through the vessels, but the blood vessels don't disappear.
Make sure you follow your eye doctor's instructions, especially when he or she tells you when to take your
contacts out.
