Bifocals is different from normal lenses as they are actually two lenses in one. The bottom part is meant for close vision while the upper portion aims for distant focusing. The secret in using bifocals lies in learning to automatically look through the correct part of the lenses. It will take some time to get used to it as the plus segment will magnifies the object, making it difficult to judge the actual distance of the object concerned.

You might also encountered problem when walking down the stairs as you have to look into the correct portion of the lenses.
