I even verified the lot numbers with a Cibavision representative at their home office to make sure I had the new version of the Air Optix lens. There is absolutely NO improvement between the original Air Optix and the supposed "new improved version." I believe the problem lies with the stamped OK on the lens irritating the eye. This stamping was not on the Focus Day and Night lens. It's a real problem and I still cannot understand why Ciba would have reformatted the excellent eye product they had with the Focus Day and Night lens. The new Air Optix Aqua contacts just are not an adequate usable eye care replacement for original product. I have high hopes someone will come up with a contact lens that can replicate the comfort and vision of the old Focus Day and Night contacts. If someone is aware of a similar product please let me know.
If read from the inside the OK should read backwards not forwards Reading the OK from the outside is much more difficult than reading it from inside. My first try with the Air Optix I got it backwords & yes they were very uncomfortable but when I figured out the correct way to read the OK they were very comfortable when I put them back in. These lenses are very hard to tell the correct way just by looking at the shape of the lense so that is why they need an inversion marking. When I compared them to my old Accuvu Oasis lenses the inversion mark read the same way, that is backwards when viewed from the inside. The Oasis lenses were very easy to tell the correct orientation though even without the inversion mark.
