There's a huge difference between the conventional soft contacts (like Acuvue 2) and the silicone hydrogels (like Oasys). The Oasys allow far, far more oxygen through to your eye resulting in far less risk of corneal neovascularization, corneal swelling, and myopic regression. That is, they're safer.
