I wear glasses myself and I have been on the receiving end of taunts like that but it's all swings and round abouts. I say that because I used to taunt people with glasses myself as it was the thing to do and I was weird enough with my hair colour. The thing I've noticed about wearing glasses is everyone instantly things your smart and if your glasses magnify they make your eyes look bigger which can get you a lot of male attention, it has to me.
