Default Does it Hurt?

If I may butt in . . .

When you first get your contact lenses, it's a very common and perfectly natural fear that they're going to hurt. The first time you put them in, they will probably feel a little uncomfortable, but not painful. You will also probably be a bit clumsy, because let's face it, it's not natural to put something in your eye. Still, if you keep at it, you'll soon get the hang of it. Just work closely with your eye doctor and he or she will help you along the way, and don't forget that your friends on Lens 101 are here to help you too.
