I must admit it was a long haul to finally get them to feel OK - I find it also depends on what cleansing solution is used! I have tried lots of different ones, and still always seem to need to rub them, even when I have used the hydrogen peroxide cleaners. If the lenses are not completely 100% clean, the edges feel very obvious indeed.
Perhaps you should try a different cleaner? It might help?

glasses for distance vision, but I still don't need glasses to read. Did you become far sighted immediately after turning the big 4-0? What can I expect now that I'm--as the kids say--40 and a half?
