Default Dried Out Acuvue 2 Colours - Enhancers Contact Lenses

How long does it take for Acuvue 2 Colours - Enhancers contact lenses to dry out? Here's the answer according to http://www.color-contact-lenses.org

"If the Acuvue 2 Colours Enhancer frequent replacement contact lens is off the eye and exposed to air from 30 minutes to 1 hour or more, its surface will become dry and gradually become non-wetting. If this should occur, discard the contact lens and use a new one."

What's the difference between "dry" and "non-wetting"?

Good question, eyecaramba. I was wondering about that myself.

My guess is, first the moisture evaporates and the lens is "dry." You can then add some solution and the contact lens will return to it normal state.

If you let a dry lens continue to be exposed to the air without the solution, it gets so dry that it's ruined and cannot be restored by adding moisture.

This is dry:

This is "non-wetting."

Any questions?

I never thought I'd see a girl in a towel on Lens 101, but you found a way, OrderSixtySix. My congratulations to you.

You also answered the question, which is even more impressive.

Yeah, can we go over that "dry" part again?

Oh, and just so you know, I can see the URL of this picture, and it's actually titled "stock-photo-portrait-of-beautiful-blonde-girl-in-blue-towel."

Evidently she hasn't stepped into the shower yet; that or she didn't wet her hair.

Yeah, it probably was easier than copying the picture from here. The URL would have been twice as long.
