Default Should Enhancers Match Your Eye Color?

I read this on another site and was kind of surprised. Are Acuvue 2 Colors - Enhancers meant to be worn with eyes of the same color? In other words blue contacts with blue eyes, brown with brown, etc?

I think you can wear the same color to enhance your natural color or add a different color to change it. It is all about what you want.

In the case of Acuvue 2 Colours - Enhancers, I don't think it's so much a matter of "what you want." It think it's about how the contacts were designed.

Like you said, Nurse Nancy, I think Enhancer contacts are intended to make blue eyes look bluer and green eyes look greener, etc. I don't think they were designed to change brown eyes into blue, for example. That's what Opaque contacts are for.

I hope that helps.

Yes, I think this brand is to be worn with original color to make it brighter/bolder/deeper.

I'm really wondering if you couldn't have a lot of fun with this though.
You need opaque to completely cover and change your eye color BUT
I might get green enhancers and add them to my blue eyes and get a really kewl color of teal or aquamarine!!
LOL
I think you can do what you want!!

I got brown enhancers to change my eye color which isnt a pretty shade of brown. It certainly lightened them up but it was way too abvious that even people that I had never met on the street were asking me if I had something on.

But I think being obvious might be fun once in a while!!
Totally change and when people ask just get a twinkle in your eye and say something like, "I drank a lot of rootbeer last night and this always happens to my eyes when I do that!" and then grin.
I wouldn't want major changes every day but sometimes it would just be fun.
At least it would be a great conversation starter!

I love that root beer idea! Have you tried it?

Also, I read in another place here on Lens 101 about yellow contacts to make brown eyes look more bronze. Has anyone seen these yellow/bronze contacts?

Did they ask you if you had something on, or if you were on something?

That's a good idea, faithib. I'm sure people have been experimenting to find a "kewl" blend of colors.

Does anybody out there have an example?
