Default Acuvue 2 Colours - Enhancers -- Left or Right?

If you've got two boxes of Acuvue 2 Colours - Enhancers, how can you tell which box is for your right eye and which is left?

In case this helps others. Do you have a certain prescription that's different from one eye to the other? If NOT, then it doesn't matter which eye you put them in.

Looking at the boxes, they will hopefully have the letters "OD" and "OS" on the prescription label. OS means left eye and OD means right eye.

If I'm not mistaken, the contacts themselves are marked as well. I think the right one will have a tiny mark on it.

Can anyone back me up on this?

One time I accidentally put the wrong side of my contact in the case. Which i think I did. That was the problem. My eyes are different and when I put the contacts in and then switched them, I still didn't know which side was which. Well if I start getting a headache I guess I should switch them. LOL

Thank you for sharing your story, dboo. Now that you've had a few weeks of practice, can you tell your left lens from your right?

I found this thread while searching for any posts I might need to follow up on. I found this picture of a contact lens prescription and I don't see any indication that it's for the left eye or the right one, do you?

Default merits of Acuvue

Regular wearers of Acuvue astigmatism can notice that wearing such lens is very fresh. This is because Acuvue astigmatism can always maintain enough moisture for eyes. Its water content can reach to 58%. And sufficient oxygen can go through Acuvue astigmatism. This can assure that eyes are saturated in nature. All these can ensure that eye fatigue will seldom occur.

Acuvue astigmatism also has other merits. Acuvue astigmatism can be stably worn. There are two zones in Acuvue astigmatism, which can ascertain the lens will not move or drop out, for the sake of movements and blinks. Thereby, consumers need not worry any similar problems that may occur on other products if they have worn Acuvue astigmatism.

Hi sailojion,

Thanks for all that neat information about "Acuvue astigmatism." However this is a thread about Acuvue 2 Colours - Enhancers and how to tell the left one from the right. Do you have any advertising copy about that?

before you use them never take both of your caps off of your case at the same time! just to take out and put in the right lens first all the time!!!

Patients who wear RGP lenses have the option to have a dot placed on the right one to keep them straight. Can't do that with soft lenses though, unfortunately.

So in the case of the soft Acuvue 2 Colors, how can you tell which one goes in your right eye?

Okay, I asked about Acuvue 2 Colors - Enhancers, which are soft lenses. Therefore, according to your post, they will not have the helpful little dot, so I'm back to square 1. So let's say it's early morning, I haven't read your suggestion yet about always starting with the right lens. What do I do now?

i felt sorry that i did not make it clear for you to understand how to start with the right lens.
the only moment you can recognize the right and left is before you open the blister pack or vials (ask the shop keeper and mark the R/L on the vials if you can't tell). then you must throw the vials ,
you all use the litter case (with mirror)to contain the contact lens right? put the right contact lens into the right blank of the case and put the left lens into the left one. and they would be safe and done.
everytime you take them on ,start with the right lens and put them back to the right blank always!!!!!

I guess it's a matter of developing good contact lens handling habits, isn't it?

Thanks for your help, sailojion.

Okay, I'm sensing that even though it says you're from Seattle, you may be more familiar with a language other than English. That's okay. We accept everyone here as long as they don't spam. I just have a couple more questions.

One, is it standard procedure for the shop keeper to mark the lenses for you? Will he look at me funny if I ask him that?

Secondly, you said something about a "vial." You don't mean one of those tiny little bottles, do you? Acuvue 2 Colours - Enhancers come in a box.

Hi Zana,

This question has been hanging in virtual air for over six months.

Strangely, when I tried to find some information about getting your contact lenses marked so you know which is left and which is right, I came across a site that claims to sell contact lenses that will allow you to spot marked playing cards.

And so the mystery remains. You have a box of Acuvue 2 Colours - Enhancer contact lenses before you. How can you tell if the lenses in that box are for your left eye or your right? Do you just match it up to your prescription from the doctor's office or is there an easier way? Come on, we're living in a world where you can get instructions on how to wash your hands, there's got to me some kind of indication of which eye the lenses in a particular box go in.
