Cool Pearl Gray contacts - Dark Brown eyes anyone?

Hey guys,

New member here, sorry for being a noob
Anyways, I'm form south east asia so we have tan skin and somewhat big eyes. I wanna jazz up my eye color a bit and I was wondering if any of you could share some pics of the pearl gray contacts!

Would it suit my features? How opaque is it?

Hi SoniaF, and welcome to Lens 101.

A lot of people post on this site and ask what contact lens color "A" will look like on eye color "B," and unless a person actually has that color eyes and that color contact lenses, they have to rely on pictures on the Internet. You probably already know how hard it is to find a picture of Pearl Gray Acuvue 2 Colours - Opaques on brown eyes. It's really hard to find a specific lens color on top of a specific eye color . . .

. . . but not impossible.

I think the grey lenses will improve your features. In this picture the gray is not very different from the brown, but I think your eyes are probably darker than this, right? So I think you should give it a try. You can order those Pearl Gray lenses right here: http://www.lens.com/contact-lenses/lens134.asp

I think the brown and the gray blend very nicely in this picture.

Hey!

I just bought Peral Gray contacts (Acuvue opaque) - and I just love them! I have very dark brown eyes, and the gray covers them completely! Prior to that I ordered Hazel acuvues and the color looked terrible on my dark eyes (dirty brownish with no noticable green)

Pros:It looks very natural and is so soft that I can barely feel them!

Cons: When you rapidly move your eyes lens get sklightly off the center. When I was wearing FreshLook Colorblends - it never happened.

Is it me or did you misspell "slightly" the same way in another post?

At any rate, I'm glad you like the Pearl Grey lenses and that they look natural on your dark brown eyes.

I'd like to see a picture too, but for some reason you need minimum number of posts in order to add a picture. I think it's 15, so as soon as they get the required number of posts up, we'll start seeing pictures.

Mhm, I saw some pictures of the Bausch and Lomb softlens in Platinum and I do love the color. I love Acuvue's Pearl Gray as well, I just hope I won't look like a walking zombie with either of those on, LOL!

You won't look like a "walking zombie" (Is there any other kind?) if they look as good as the picture posted by mamcita up there. You'll look really good. Let us know what you decide to do. If you decide to order the Pearl Gray lenses, just go to www.lens.com or click the red button at the top of the page.

You don't have to apologize for being a "noob." This site is specially designed for noobs. That's why it's called "Lens 101," get it?

I have an announcement to make...

I have the Pearl Gray contacts! Although it is a trial version, it still gives me an idea of what it would look like without those "TEST" letterings. I must admit I REALLY love them, they're one of the most comfortable lenses I've ever tried. Stay tuned for pictures!

Did you get those lenses from you eye doctor? I don't think Lens.com sells "test" lenses. Are you or your friends able to see that word "TEST" on the lenses?

Hmm. I did a Google search for "test contact lenses" but I didn't see any pictures of contact lenses with the word "TEST" on them.

I haven't made the switch myself but I would imagine that an 8.4 would be an 8.4, right?

It seems to me that the Acuvue 2 Colors Opaque only come in a base curve of 8.3. Is that why you're asking? I would think that 8.4 was close enough to 8.3 to make the transition easily, but then I'm not an eye doctor.

I would say that 8.4 was lose enough. However, the store that fills the prescription may not think so and can refuse to give you the contact lenses until you have the proper numbers.

Both of those lenses are available with a diameter of 14.0. That's all they have, in fact. However, Oasys lenses have lenses available in both 8.4 and 8.8 base curve, while Acuvue Colours Opaque only offer an 8.3 base curve. I could work to switch lenses, in theory.

They might do that, or they may just call the doctor and ask if 8.4 really is close enough. I would hope that an eye doctor would not prescribe a brand of lenses to you in a base curve that they don't have.

It's been almost a month since I asked if trugreeneyes made the switch. I hope we don't have to wait a long time for the answer.
