Sorry about the picture quality -- my digital camera is broken so I had to use my Mac photobooth.

You should try Natural Touch lenses in Sultry Grey- i bet you would love them. They show up very well on dark eyes.

Hey Bev, I think that my vote would go for the Freshlook colorblends too.

Thanks for posting these. If you try any others, it would be interesting to see them alongside for comparison, too.

Hi all,

I am seriously considering getting a pair of Acuvue 2 Colors in Chestnut Brown or Hazel Green; what kind of effect do you suppose it would have on my eyes. I'm not one for dramatic change but rather subtle change.
I've read reviews & it seems like a range worth considering...
Please advise.
Below are pics of my natural eye colour.

Pic2 - outdoor, daylight

Far away they look okay, but up close they look extreemly fake.

I don't think they look "extremely fake" at all. My favorite is the one on the far right, which you describe as "Acuvue 2 Opaques" but you don't give the color. They're blue, though, and even close up they look good. They don't have the oversized pupil opening that I see in so many colored contact lenses.
I hope you find what you're looking for, and I hope Lens 101 has been helpful to you.

I had a pair of ACUVUE 2 in GREY as well and I thought they looked really bad as well.

This is the Acuvue...it looks horrible

I opted for the colourblends as well and they look MUCH better and more natural

Yeah, the pattern looks like it was printed by a computer (which it probably was) and quite a lot of brown shows through. However, this picture was taken in pretty strong light. How do they look under more natural lighting conditions?

Do you have pictures of the ColorBlends?

Those are some good pictures, Bev. I like your eyes no matter what color they are. In the middle picture it looks like your eyes are smiling.

In picture #3, do you mean the Freshlook Colorblends in Grey are on your left or my left? The one on my left looks more gray.

The Acuvue look solid under all light like you took a grey marker and marked over your eyes. It doesn't matter if it is under bright light or not, it looks super fake.

Look on some other threads as I did post Freshlooks pics.

I found some of your other pictures here. Here's a link to a couple of them so other people won't have to go on an all-out search like I did.

In those pictures they really don't look that fake, unless you're looking at an extreme close up.

Thanks for the links, Guinness. That will save a lot of time over doing a search manually.

Default Bev's browns are pretty!

Hey Bev, I think your brown eyes are stunning, I have a similar shade of brown and found that most of the blue and grey contacts I have tried (freshlooks, colorvue glamor) end up looking dark and muddy
The best so far for me have been the Colorvue grey Glamor and green glamors. I think our own natural eye color makes a huge difference in what color the contacts look. The green glamor contacts seem to have the most impact for me. I'll try to post a pic of both and my natural eyes....as soon as I figure out how
You can see the grey glamors in a pic on my profile in the mean time
Cheers!

Here's instructions from another thread on Lens 101:

"If you have uploaded an image as an attachment, you can click the arrow next to the 'Attachment Icon' and select it from the list. This will be inserted into your post and can be located where you want it displayed.

To include an image that is not uploaded as an attachment and is located on another website, you can do so by copying the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located), and either pressing the 'Insert Image' icon or by typing after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image."

Let me know if any of that needs further explaining. I look forward to seeing those pictures soon.

Default Photos attached I hope

OK, I hope I followed the instructions right! These pics should be: first one- Green Glamor by Colorvue, Second pic- my own eye color, third pic- Blue/Yellow Fusion by Colorvue. So far the Green Glamor change my eye color the most drastically, but are not too comfy to wear for more than a few hours. Still looking for a more natural but vivid color contact that's comfy too, any recommendations are totally appreciated!

Naw, you look cute, Juliet.

Really huge, but cute.

Of the two colors you posted, I think I like the Blue/Yellow Fusion the best.

If you plan on posting more pictures--and I hope you do--you should probably probably resize them first. I don't know of any way to do that here on Lens 101, so you'll probably have to do that on your own computer before you post them. Whatever program you use to upload pictures onto your computer from your camera will probably have a "resize" option, or something similar.

In the meantime, enjoy your contact lenses.

Default Ah, resize, gotcha!

Thanks Little Elvis! I'm gonna fiddle with the resizing options on my computer before posting any more pics. I've gotten feedback from my family that they also like the blue-yellow fusion best, go figure
In sunlight they actually look a lot different and I kinda like them since they're the most comfy and natural looking. I'm becoming a colored contact junkie ha! I will for sure post more pics when I get new colors (and I will get more colors soon since I looove variety!) I've heard good things about Solotica and Waicon and I'm excited to try them.
Have a good one, and thanks for the feedback

As my little sister used to say: "Holy huge!"

You can certainly get a good look at the contact lenses in those pictures. They look good, even upon close up inspection. I look forward to seeing more pictures; maybe one or two in sunlight so we can see how the color looks there.

Until then . . .

Default LOL! HolyHuge!

I love it! I'm gonna have to borrow that phrase haha! I'll try to get some sunlight pics up soon. I wish more people would post pics, it is really helpful in determining what colors might look good with certain skin tones and varying shades of brown eyes. I notice some real differences in the end shade of colored contacts when seen on lighter brown vs darker brown eyes. But I can't grouse about too few pics if I don't throw up some of my own ha! So I will for sure soon
Cheers!

Default Aww, how nice!

Thanks for the compliment
I'm just regular, but I found out that smiling and happiness can make any picture look nice! My mom always said it's what's on the inside that really counts and I firmly believe it! Physical beauty is so fleeting, and soooo subjective. If more people realized that, more people would put up pics I'm sure. To everyone out there on the forum YOU ARE GORGEOUS!!!

Thanks for the positive message julietjilly29. I don't consider myself to be good-looking by any standard, but not long ago a very pretty girl in one of my classes told me I have a nice smile. I'm not often described as good-looking, (Let's not kid ourselves--I'm never described as good looking.) but I am often described as sweet, funny, loyal, smart and kind. If I had to choose between being those things or "good-looking" I'd go for sweet, funny, loyal, smart and kind.

Keep on smiling, and keep on contributing to Lens 101. We need more positive people like yourself around here.

I forgot to tell you. Those contacts look really great on you, especially with that hair in view. A very nice look. Would you care to give is a picture of your whole face? I think most people who have come to Lens 101 like what they see so far . . .

Bev8025, I also forgot to say, the freshlooks are waaaay nicer looking and also appear more natural I think cause of the outer limbal ring that seems to be missing in the acuvue 2 opaques. Go with the Freshlooks, they look fabulous on you!

You can use the phrase, but you have to pay me royalties.

Your complaint is a common one. There are some pictures here of our good-looking Lens 101 family members, but there are still others out there who may still think their looks are not ready for public forum viewing, even with their shiny new glasses, contacts or sunglasses. Others may not have very many pictures of themselves. I know I don't. Still others may not know how to attach their pictures here.

To all of you, don't hesitate to post your pictures up here. No matter what you look like, I'm sure you look better with your contacts, sunglasses or glasses, otherwise why wear them, right? You've thought very carefully about what kind to get, so why not let the world see your great taste?

If you don't know how, here's an excerpt from the "FAQ" section:

"How do I add an image to a post?

If you have uploaded an image as an attachment, you can click the arrow next to the 'Attachment Icon' and select it from the list. This will be inserted into your post and can be located where you want it displayed.

To include an image that is not uploaded as an attachment and is located on another website, you can do so by copying the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located), and either pressing the 'Insert Image' icon or by typing after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image. You can insert pictures from your albums in this way too."

Please post here if you have any more questions, and I or one of my Lens 101 compatriots will try and help you.

Default Smaller Pictures, Please

I'm going to click on that exclamation point inside the triangle to alert the administrator and maybe he can re-size those pictures for you julietlilly29. One thing about those pictures is you sure get a good look at the contacts, and they look great on you.

Of course, once the pictures are re-sized, there are going to be a bunch of strange comments in this thread about how big the pictures are. Oh well. C'est la vie. (Why "c'est" sounds like "say," I don't know.)

Exclamation Smaller pics would be nice...Admin Heeeelp!

Type40, I hope the admins can resize those huge pics for me, that would be very nice, although then my family can't get on the site just to laugh about my mustache LOL!! Ahhh, yes but...c'est la vie haha, and I think French is just never pronounced how it's spelled, example: hors d'oeuvers, I always read it hores-duh-vores! I was 30 by the time I learned THAT word was the one we say for tiny appetizers and is pronounced ore-dervs! I can't even get embarrassed anymore ha

Juniorgerbil, I LOVE your perspective! Serious way to rock your life! Reminds me of the song "Beautiful" by Tammy Trent, awesome

How horrifying, the extreme close up of these pics brought to my attention the extreme furry-ness of my face LOL!!! Mortifying!! I think I need a shave
Don't worry about the fuzziness. It could be worse:

You've still got pretty eyes and a pretty smile. So what if you're not technologically inclined.

Default Grey Acuvue 2 Opaques - PICTURE

Hey bev8025, are you wearing grey Acuvue 2 Opaques in all the pictures you posted? The first one looks like they might be your natural brown eyes.

Juniorgerbil, I LOVE your perspective! Serious way to rock your life! Reminds me of the song "Beautiful" by Tammy Trent, awesome
For those of you who don't want to scroll up, Juniorgerbil said something about being described as "sweet, funny, loyal, smart and kind, " and if he or she had the choice of being described in those terms or as "good looking" he or she would rather be sweet, funny, loyal, smart and kind.

A Tammy Trent fan, huh? I think she's awesome. So Juniorgerbil's post made you think of the song "Beautiful."

Something like rain
That falls from the sky
The air that I breathe
The tears of joy in my eyes
An innocent child
A flower in bloom
Oh, I can’t help it I see beautiful.

That one?

I like "Irreplaceable" myself.

Exclamation Hazel Green doesn't look good on dark brown eyes!

I've read reviews & it seems like a range worth considering...
Please advise.
Below are pics of my natural eye colour.

Pic1 - indoor, daylight
Pic2 - outdoor, daylight
If your eyes are dark brown, then Hazel Green would rather give you dirty brownish tint. When i ordered it - i have immediately returned them. On the other hand, if your eye color is light brown it'd look nicer but still very unatural. Pure Hazel by Freshlooks is the best Hazel Green color that has ever been created. I've been wearing it for over 2 years, and now cannot find it anywhere (since I moved to Europe, and i guess they don't sell this color here). As compared to Acuvue 2 Colours Opaque, the Freshlook Pure Hazel) gives you an amazingly natural color and covers your natural color completely. I'll post the picture soon..

As of now, i'm awaiting for my Pearl Grey to arrive...Will update you all once i get them!

Hi nigilina. Welcome to Lens 101. It's great to see so many new members signing up.

Thank you for your report on FeshLook contact lenses. We can always use reviews from people who have actually worn the lenses. I'm looking forward to your thoughts on the Pearl Grey lenses.

When you say "FreshLook Pure Hazel" you mean FreshLook ColorBlends, right? Have you tried ordering them from Lens.com? http://www.lens.com/contact-lenses/lens254.asp

That sounds like a very beautiful song. Thanks for sharing the lyrics, Hogwartz.
