Default grey acuvue 2 opaques - PICTURE

I ordered a sample of Acuvue 2 Opaques in Grey from my eye doctor, when I got them I was disappointed. The pictures make them look better than they really are.

I have dark brown eyes so it's been hard to find a good opaque contact.
Far away they look okay, but up close they look extreemly fake.

Picture #1: My eyes with no contacts.
Picture #2: Acuvue 2 Opaques in Grey
Picture #3: On the left is Freshlook Colorblends in Grey, on the right is Acuvue 2 Opaques.

In my opinion the Freshlook colorblends looks better on brown eyes.

Default Another note

Sorry about the picture quality -- my digital camera is broken so I had to use my Mac photobooth.

You should try Natural Touch lenses in Sultry Grey- i bet you would love them. They show up very well on dark eyes.

Hey Bev, I think that my vote would go for the Freshlook colorblends too.

Thanks for posting these. If you try any others, it would be interesting to see them alongside for comparison, too.

Hi all,

I am seriously considering getting a pair of Acuvue 2 Colors in Chestnut Brown or Hazel Green; what kind of effect do you suppose it would have on my eyes. I'm not one for dramatic change but rather subtle change.
I've read reviews & it seems like a range worth considering...
Please advise.
Below are pics of my natural eye colour.

Pic2 - outdoor, daylight

I don't think they look "extremely fake" at all. My favorite is the one on the far right, which you describe as "Acuvue 2 Opaques" but you don't give the color. They're blue, though, and even close up they look good. They don't have the oversized pupil opening that I see in so many colored contact lenses.
I hope you find what you're looking for, and I hope Lens 101 has been helpful to you.

I had a pair of ACUVUE 2 in GREY as well and I thought they looked really bad as well.

This is the Acuvue...it looks horrible

I opted for the colourblends as well and they look MUCH better and more natural

Yeah, the pattern looks like it was printed by a computer (which it probably was) and quite a lot of brown shows through. However, this picture was taken in pretty strong light. How do they look under more natural lighting conditions?

Do you have pictures of the ColorBlends?

Those are some good pictures, Bev. I like your eyes no matter what color they are. In the middle picture it looks like your eyes are smiling.

In picture #3, do you mean the Freshlook Colorblends in Grey are on your left or my left? The one on my left looks more gray.

The Acuvue look solid under all light like you took a grey marker and marked over your eyes. It doesn't matter if it is under bright light or not, it looks super fake.

Look on some other threads as I did post Freshlooks pics.

I found some of your other pictures here. Here's a link to a couple of them so other people won't have to go on an all-out search like I did.

In those pictures they really don't look that fake, unless you're looking at an extreme close up.

Thanks for the links, Guinness. That will save a lot of time over doing a search manually.
