Post It's your lucky day!

I got plenty of pictures. I'm getting contacts for the first time (to replace my glasses). I thought, hey, I might as well get colored ones. I was going to try freshlook, but the base curve I guess was too big for my eyes...so my doctor has me testing out the acuvue 2. I'm trying out the two blues...the deep blue and the sapphire blue. I have a different color in each eye. Deep blue is on the left, sapphire is on the right.

The deep blue is a bit dark, especially if you have brown eyes. The sapphire pops out more, but it's also a less natural color... a royal blue almost.

The sapphire is on the left, in my right eye. The deep blue is on the right, in my left eye, if that makes any sense lol.
sometimes, however, it's hard to tell the difference of them... like in these pictures

Here's some close-ups. Sapphire:

Deep blue:

(haha, I just noticed you can read the "test" on my eyes! lol!)

I think that's more than enough pictures! The cool thing about acuvues are the way the colors are drawn on...they have natural-looking lines that match what an iris actually looks like. However, they have some draw backs...as you can see, the colors show up pretty dark on brown eyes, and mine are light brown, almost hazel. So much for opaque! The colors themselves are not that natural, either... but hey, sapphire still looks pretty cool. And, the pupil hole is pretty big...but, because it is, it's more comfortable to see out of. I really don't know which color to pick though! =)

in indoor lighting...

The flash of the camera makes it pop up more than usual, so here's a pic in sunlight. Once again, Sapphire is on the left, deep blue on the right (sapphire in my right eye, deep blue in my left eye).

Here's some close-ups too. Sapphire:

thanks! I'm going in today for my follow-up visit, but I still can't decide between the two blues. The deep blue is more natural, but in person it looks pretty dark, almost dark gray. The sapphire is more visible and brighter, but its a really unnatural kind of blue. So I'm torn. I hope the doctor has other brands with different colors that will fit my eyes! If anything, I might just get clear ones and keep my normal brown eyes. =)

Yeah, the sapphire is more definitely a blue color, but I can also see your brown eyes through the pupils. If you like this color, maybe you can wear sunglasses when the sun is bright and your pupils shrink.

nope, they aren't that much different in person, no one really noticed they were different until I pointed it out. idk why but for some reason in that really really bright sunlight they appear kinda dark and dull in that pic...hm.

You do look like you're kind of squinting in that last picture with the two different color contacts. Maybe that's why the colors are hard to see there.

It was enough pictures, Jellymelly, but now we need more. Do you have any more? Are you still wearing the Acuvue 2 Colours - Opaques?

I hope it doesn't spoil the mood when that Special Someone looks deep into your eyes . . . and sees the word "TEST."

Yeah, it's a "test" to see if he will look you in the eye!

Default Deep Blue on Dark Brown Eyes

After reading this post, I went with Deep Blue over Sapphire just because I thought it might look more natural, but I had a tough time finding any pics of them! I have the Jade Green and I love them. My experience so far of both Jade Green and Deep Blue is that they are very dark on my eyes, so indoors, its hard to tell. Its easier to see when the light reflects off my eyes outside or with fluorescent lighting. I am also unhappy with the large amount of brown showing through the large pupil hole, but oh well its not a deal breaker! Some of these pics are with the flash off, to see how dark they show up. The pics are listed as attachments because I have not uploaded them anywhere, but a trick for non-forum users who come across this post by google - simply right click, copy link location, and paste that into the URL in order to see the pics without having to register.

Hmm, in dim light your eyes still look brown, and when the light is bright enough to show the blue color, your natural brown eyes show through the pupil opening. You probably should go with contact lenses that have a smaller pupil opening, but I've never seen a website that tells you how big the pupils are. Even if they said "5 mm," is that small enough or will some color still show through?
