Default Acuvue 2 Colours - Opaques with Dark Colored Eyes

I have worn contacts for five years now off and on. I have been extremely happy with clear contacts, but now I am ready to try something a bit new.

I am a little hesitant to dip my toes into the water when it comes to colored contacts primarily because I have dark eyes.

My question is, do the Acuvue 2 Colours - Opaques contact lenses go well with naturally dark eyes?

no they don't! At least, not the ones I've tried (green, deep blue, and sapphire). They show up kind of dark on dark eyes. A dark blue still looks nice though.

Hi sarahmccrmck10. Looks like we have another new member were on Lens 101. We love new members!

I don't wear color contacts myself, but I've always heard that the Acuvue 2 Colours - Opaques work well for people with dark eyes. It sounds like jellymelly14 is speaking from experience and says the opposite. I think I would go with Jelly, but if your eye doctor offers free trials, you may want to just check out the Opaques. Who knows? You may love the way you look.

Yup. Your eyes don't look dark brown there. However, it looks like you're in direct sunlight. I wonder how these look in more natural light?

I can't speak for the chestnut brown, but I can tell you what the blues and greens look like in natural light. The sapphire blue, which is an electric blue, stands out alot. Even in normal light, it's very opaque and the blue shows through. Deep blue, on dark eyes, tends to disappear in normal lighting...almost becoming more of a dark gray than blue. Green, on dark eyes, pretty much disappears no matter what the lighting, unless you take a picture with flash. The green, on my eyes at least, looked really dark and muddy, and not very green at all. People thought my eyes were still brown...and it made them darker than they actually are (I have light brown eyes). I did try on chestnut for at the eye doctor but that's pretty much my natural color so I couldn't really gauge how opaque it was. =T

oh, and I have pictures of me wearing the 2 blues and the green in other threads in the forum, under the said titles. (sapphire blue thread, deep blue thread, green thread...they're in there somewhere lol)

What's new Sarah? Have you tried any color contacts yet? Did Lens 101 help you make a decision?

I forgot to tell you that I like that picture, Niner. The girl holding her nose is a nice touch.
