I'm no expert, but I think someone said something on this forum about two-week lenses that is appropriate. When contacts are for "two weeks" that doesn't mean the contacts have an expiration date that begins when you open the package. It just means that you can put them in your eyes fourteen times before they have to be thrown away. So if you skip a day or two in that two week period, you can still wear them for sixteen or seventeen days or whatever after you open them. Of course, if you wear your contacts for one day and then leave them on the nightstand for six months, that's a different story.
As for minimizing the danger of wearing them longer, I'd say don't. If you're trying to save money by buying contacts less often, think of how much it would cost to go to the emergency room with an eye infection. That's just My Humble Opinion. I hope it helps. |
