Default thats not how it works..really

contact lenses like blocks for glasses are made with certain parameteres like the index. Then they are sent to another lab to be " ground" to the right RX.

You can do some price shopping like Lens.com, 1-800-GET-LENS, Dr. Bizers etc for best pricing.

Many manufacturers like J&J do offer rebates.

Hi J,

So you're saying that Johnson and Johnson, for example, only makes "blank" contact lenses with no prescription, then "another lab" for retailers like lens.com, will shape them to a particular prescription? Do I understand correctly?

I would think they carry Acuvue stuff, I think they make them actually. Though I am not one hundred percent on that.

I thought that contact lenses left the factory ready to go, but you would have to buy in bulk, beyond what the average person could ever use within a reasonable time frame, to order directly from the manufacturer

I wonder if there are any contact lens coops that buy in bulk for members?

LOL

I thought you weren't supposed to get lenses directly from the factory because the fit might not be right.
