Default Which Solution Works Best With Acuvue Advance?

I'm looking to gather some opinions here. Those of you who wear Acuvue Advance, which solution works best, in your opinion? Have you tried more than one brand? If you had to pick a second favorite, what would that be?

Thank you for your time and your help.

At the following address you will find a biocompatibility chart for the most commonly used lenses and solutions, that should help.

Well, I used Alcon Opti-free express at first for a month or two and then switched to Aquify at the suggestion of my doctor for the bacteria protection and must say I am very pleased with the Aquify over the Opti free. I think my lenses are cleaner, more comfortable and I don't use comfort drops as much as I did with the Opti free.express MPS solution. And if I do use comfort drops I also prefer the Aquify drops over the Opti free refresh drops.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks Miss Kitty, I've been using Alcon Opti-free for years and years. Over the last year or so, I've noticed a lot more build up in my eyes. I'll give Aquify a try. My doctor wrote me a script for some really great eye drops but they cost around $100 and my insurance wouldn't cover them. Maybe new solution will help.

Aquify and Clear Care are both great options. If you are like most patients, you are probably still using the same case you got with your last starter kit at your last exam. Aquify and ClearCare give you a new case with each bottle purchased, which helps reduce contamination of lenses by dirty cases.

I use Renu for cleaning/storage and regular Bausch & Lomb saline for rinsing.

Clear Care works great, I have yet to have an issues with my lenses though, the only time I've experienced dryness or red eyes is when I rubbed them too much and weren't moist enough.

Thank you for your answers everybody. This is a really good thread. It sounds like we have a couple of experts on board in harrychiling and fschultz4is. They've both been very helpful to us in Lens 101. Miss Kitty seemed like she helped someone, too. It's a good thread.

I also have been using Opti free. I tried Aquify last night, and I could feel a big difference from the moment I put the lenses in this morning.
They feel wetter, smoother, clearer. I am very happy. Gee I sound like a friggin commercial.

Wow. TWO happy faces! You must really be enjoying using Opti-Free. Have you gotten any of your friends to try it? You know, share the love and all that?

I suggest you try Walmart's Equate. It costs $4.36 for two 12 oz bottles, and is the same solution as ReNu. You may have heard this before, but the proof is in the patent number on the package. I have Equate, looked up the patent number on the government web site, and it owned by Bausch & Lomb. I looked at ReNu and the same patent number is on their carton. What a strange co-incidene.

I have no problem with it, and it works well. It's so inexpensive that you don't have to buy saline for rinsing.

Thanks for giving us a low-cost option, mgash. Does anyone know how this price compares to some of the other suggestions on this page such as Clear Care, Replenish or Renu?

The New Adventures of Old Christine. I looked it up and was amazed to find that the show was on for five seasons, then canceled. It seemed to me like it was on for maybe one season.
Not that I ever watched it even once . . .

It's MY fault!

Way to go, Tradecade. Now Julia Louis-Dreyfus will have to find another way to make ends meet.

I don't think that's really her. Can anybody confirm the authenticity of that picture? I bet it's either a lookalike, or it's her face on someone else's grapefruit-clad body.

Do you see what's wrong with this picture?

That's right! She's not wearing her seat belt!

She doesn't appear to be wearing any grapefruit either.

BTW, I did some research to see if the grapefruit picture was a fake, but I didn't find anything.

I thought I did, but it turned out to be this very thread. D'oh!

I think maybe you've got too much time on your hands, Nichobec. Get back to work!
