Default Protein Build up on Acuvue Advance contacts

I have worn contacts for over twenty years and basically the same prescription (only changed around the birth of my two children). I used to be able to wear a pair for 2 weeks without any problems. 2 years ago I started taking them out each night because my eye doctor said I was wearing them too long. Last year, I realizied I had gone through 8 boxes in 6 months because protein buildup made me change them within a week. Now I am having to get a new pair every few days. Sometimes I put them on in the morning and have to take them out several times a day to clean them so I can see. I use Clear Care every night. Is it that I am eating too much protein or should I use a different cleaning method? Please help.

I do have this problem with permanent contact lenses when I was younger: my eyes secreted too much protein so I had to change lenses every four to six months (I didn't do this for long).

This had nothing to do with your alimentation, usually it's a natural trait. I don't know why your condition change though. You should see your optician; maybe 1-day lenses will be better suit to your case.
