Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism is marketed as a two week lens. Still, I read on another site that "someone" did some tests and discovered that after being worn for two months, these contacts were no different that contacts that have been worn for two weeks.
I'm skeptical. Has anyone ever heard of these "tests"? Can you tell me where and when they took place and who sponsored them? |

I have never heard of these tests but plan to do some research on my own.
I have the AA and I question how someone could wear them to 2 months. I have stretched mine to 1 month of use as opposed to two weeks only because I don't wear mine everyday or all day? My biggest concern with them since they are so porous and water soluble I would have concerns on them being "bacteria" free for that length of time. And not prone to causing eye irritation since they aren't designed for that length of wear? But, guess alot might depend on how they "feel". I can tell with mine when I can't get them clean anymore or they just aren't comfortable anymore that it is time to break out a new lens. At the minute cost of them for the convenience I can't see risking the health of my eye just to spare a couple bucks. I can always buy more lenses but I can't buy a new eye. But, everyone has their own opinion. Hope this helps in your research MissKitty |

It's my understanding that Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism will last for two weeks if you don't sleep in them, and one week if you do. Not even close to the the two months that Bensica asked about originally. |

I've heard the same thing too, Teddikitty. (Hey look! It's Teddikitty and Miss Kitty in the same thread!) I've also heard, as you probably have, that these are good to be worn 14 times, so if you wear them every other day, let's say, and don't sleep in them, they can last for 28 days.

I wear these and have worn them way past the two week mark. THey do tend to get cloudy and start to rip after two weeks, they get small rips in them you can't see,but can feel on you eyes. I have worn these for 5 years and I just wear them until they start feeling cloudy, which is usually around three weeks.

If I wore Acuvue Advance contacts, I'd change them before they started getting cloudy. |

![]() I'd still be careful about wearing contacts so long. It won't hurt you to change them sooner. It will be a problem if you don't change them often enough though. |
