Weared them since 2 years tried Freshlook, And now am trying Acuvue Advance brand. They seem great, but I heard acuve 2 are better. My eye prescription was -2.00 for 3 years including my glasses year.it Took 3 years or 4 years to change because I need glasses since I was in 8th grade. Now there -2.50 and I need help on which are better Acuvue 2 or Acuvue advance 2. PureVision suck ass they always bugged me. Well my next eye doctor's appointment is saturday. Need help which are better acuvue 2 or acuvue advance?

Welcome to Forum 101. I don't have any experience with these two lenses, but based on the oxygen permeability, the Acuvue Advance is better and more healthy for your eyes. However, there are much higher oxygen permeability lens materials on the market today - silicone hydrogel. Your optician should be able to recommend one of these newer healthier lens types for you. knotlob |

http://www.lens.com/contact-lenses/department1249.asp. I would be looking to try the Biofinity, Air Optix, Acuvue Oasys lenses. Some people have allergies or other incompatibilities with the silicone hydrogel lenses, so it's a matter of trying them. But if your eyes are happy with the material, the higher oxygen permeability is healthier for your eyes. I have worn Biofinity Lenses for 2-3 months and found them excellent. knotlob |

Of these, I have only tried the CooperVision Biofinity lens and I found that very comfortable. I hope that clarifies things .knotlob |

![]() My question is, for someone who is only 19, why have you been though so many different brands of contact lenses already? I count 3: Purevision, Freshlook and Acuvue Advance, and now you want to try Acuvue 2. |

I know, three different brands in five years. I hope eddiemonster7 found something he likes at his latest eye doctor appointment.

It's like you're shopping for a car. This one is fast, that one has good fuel economy, while the third one has lots of cargo room. If you want to know "which one is better," it depends on what you want to use it for. If you want to drag race, the fast one is better. If you have kids and plan on camping every weekend in the summer, you don't need something fast that only seats two, you need something with cargo space. You see what I mean? Since you put this question in the Acuve Advance department, let me tell you what Lens.com says about them: Acuvue Advance are silicone-hydrogel contact lenses from Johnson & Johnson. Acuvue Advance is made with Hydraclear- a revolutionary technology that brings together a remarkably moisture-rich wetting agent with high performance base materials to form clear, hydrophilic (water-loving) lenses for a unique, silky, soft feel. Acuvue Advance delivers nearly 100% of available oxygen to the cornea. Acuvue Advance lenses help keep your eyes looking white and feeling fresh all day. Acuvue Advance lenses are tinted for ease of handling and will not change the color of your eye. The tint is simply designed to facilitate locating the contact lenses in solution. These contact lenses also contain an inside-out "123" indicator to help ensure proper application/insertion. Does that sound good to you? |
