I am curious to know if anyone else has run into this situation. I was given a pair of Acuvue Bifocal lenses to try from my eye doctor when I went for my exam. I hadn't gotten used to them so I opted to order my regular Acuvue Oasys lenses. After using them I loved them but when I called doctor office to inquire about what the added power was to my prescription the receptionist said they don't have that information anymore. when I didn't purchase the bifocal type they didn't keep a record of which power they tried on me. the only way to get it was by once again going into the office and having another exam. That just doesn't sound right to me. I asked if he could see by my prescription what he may have first tried as it worked well and she said no. Has anyone else had this experience and is there a doctor on forum who can qualify that? I have my prescription.

Sorry about your difficulty in getting your prescription information. That sounds a bit suspect to me. I think that if I were an eye doctor, and I gave one of my patients some trial lenses, I'd hang on to the prescription for maybe six months, just in case they change their mind. I don't see any way to get the Acuvue Bifocal contacts back without another exam. Even if you go to another doctor they will want to fit you themselves. Sorry. |

I, too thought that was very suspect as the doctor had said for me to wear them for a week or two and get back to him if I liked them.
I can only imagine it is that they quoted me a very exorbitant price while on my visit and now realize that I am getting on line prices, which are about 1/2 of what they quoted me. I am saddened as I really liked these people but it does show what is happening within our medical communities more than ever. thanks so much for the response. |

Maybe not all doctors/opticians are fully PC literate but they must now be few and far between. knotlob |
