i am short sight and i wear contact lens for 10 years until these 2 years i have to wear glass as i am far sighted too. but i can manage to take off my glass to work with my eyes without any far sight glass yet until recently i have to change my computer setting to larger fonts otherwise they are too burring to read. i do know from my eye doctor that bifocal contact lens are not too successful ( 2 years ago, my eye doctor told me the success rate is only 5% ) for the past few years. so it is a waste of money to try bifocal lens. now it is up to a point that i am either i am going to get a bifocal glass or bifocal contact lens as the close reading is getting burr and i barely can see a little and guess the rest. i wish some one with real experience with bifocal contact lens give some real experience here.
thanks ![]() |

I have been wearing the Acuvue Bifocal contact lenses ever since they first came out. Even at 64 years of age, I still have no trouble wearing them from morning til night. For people who are tired of having two pair of glasses hanging round your neck (reading and sunglasses) the Acuvue Bifocal lens is nothing short of necessary!

I wear Acuvue Bifocal and I'm ok with them. I only have to wear reading glasses when reading very small print or knitting. I can deal with that (especially since I was always yanking my bifocal glasses off to read anyway).

So are you saying that when you read very small print or knit, you wear the Acuvue Bifocals AND reading glasses at the same time? I just want to clarify. Thank you. |

Yes, I got some over-the-counter reading glasses at the drugstore and keep them in my purse. I don't need them all the time, just when my eyes are really tired. The optometrist had mentioned that my near vision wouldn't be ideal, but he couldn't make it any stronger without sacrificing some of my distance vision. I'm happy, it works for me.

Cool. I'm glad that most of the people here at Lens 101 eventually find something that they like. I wish you continued success, dianemarie123.
Now I'm just wondering why mathu's post is exactly the same as fleming's . . . |
