New contact wearer here!!! After wearing glasses for 15 years I finally got over my fear of contacts. My problem, I don't know what is normal, what they are supposed to feel like, etc. I went back to the eye doctor today after wearing Biofinity Toric's for 6 days. I'm on the fence about them. Whenever I'd blink they'd be blurry, and I swear I could feel them in my eyes and resting on my lower lid. So I wanted to try something else to see if they are more comfortable.
Doctor today put me in the Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism. They were really hard to put in and kept flopping together like a taco. Finally, got them in and wore them for about 4 hours. The entire 4 hours were pretty miserable. While my eye doesn't seem as dry with this brand they literally feel like they are squeezing my eyeballs. I can't assume this is a normal feeling or is it? Is it something that just becomes more comfortable over time? Also, it seems like I can see the edges of the lens if I look right and left. Is that normal with contacts? Sorry for all the weird questions, but I don't know if this is just part of the contact wearing experience or if I just need to keep trying different brands. Thanks in advance for any and all input! |

![]() Anyway, your description of Biofinity Torics sounds like you're just getting used to them. Usually the sensation of movement and the blur when you blink is temporary. That sounds a lot better than what you described with Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism. In my non-professional opinion, you should give the Biofinity Toric lenses another try, and let your eye doctor know how you're doing. Maybe he or she can make some adjustments and give you a perfect contact lens wearing experience. Keep us posted. |
