Well I will try to be as fair as I can. These are my first contact lenses that I have ever worn, so I will be biased towards them.
I actually just picked up my years supply this morning after a trial that lasted 3 weeks. I think I am going to wear them for one more day and then throw them out. When I take them out every night I rub them in the palm of my hand with a few drops of solution and put them into fresh solution. I also rinse the case out once a week with fresh solution. Nobody told me to do this, I just did it on my own. My eye doctor checked my eyes out after 2 weeks with the lenses and he commented on how clean they were. So I took that as a silent "do ahead and try to stretch them to 3-4 weeks". My eyes are starting to feel a little tired after 3 weeks, so I figure this will be my sweet spot for usage. Not that I am trying to save money, just don't want to throw out something that is still good. My perscription is -0.25, 0-75, 120 and -0.25, -1.75, 080. BC is 8.6, DIA 14.5. All jibberish to me....I am 20/25 and 20/30 without glasses/lenses. I bought 8 boxes or a 1 year supply. My total cost was $307 with taxes and I am entitled to a $75 rebate that I have to mail in. The lenses themselves are a very light blue, my wife can actually see the outer blue ring in my eyes when she is close to me. They are very flexable and it is very clear when they are inside out. When I put them in, I have had issued with the lenses folding over and even once getting stuck behind my eyelid. But again I must stress that I am a total rookie at this. I have gone from 10 minutes down to 1st or 2nd try now after 3 weeks. They do tend to stick to your finger via the solution. They normally will orientate themselves within a few blinks, which is great in my opinion. They are very comfortable, after 2 days of wearing them. I honestly couldn't feel them. To the point where I was trying to take my glasses off everytime I stopped my car ![]() My biggest issue is getting them out, they seems to really stick to my eyes. I guess this isn't a bad thing though. I find myself pulling them down and squeezing them at the bottom of my eye. They seems to come out pretty easy if I do this. My vision with the lenses is actually 20/15 I couldn't be happier. They work well for me. My eyes seems to be able to stretch them to 3 weeks without any issues, but everybody's tears are different. If you have any questions, I will be more than happy to help. But know that I have nothing to compare these to. |

Thank you for that detailed review. Not to sound like Columbo, but I have a few more questions.
"My eye doctor checked my eyes out after 2 weeks with the lenses and he commented on how clean they were. So I took that as a silent 'go ahead and try to stretch them to 3-4 weeks'." I don't think this is such a good idea. You wrote this review six months ago, so you probably know this already. If your eye doctor doesn't come right and say that you can wear your contacts longer than they were intended to, then don't do it. Taking "silent" suggestions from a doctor is risky. That's like saying "My doctor said that my lungs were clear, so I took it as a silent 'go ahead start smoking.'" "My prescription is -0.25, 0.75, 120 and -0.25, -1.75, 080. BC is 8.6, DIA 14.5." Judging from your prescription, you're a bit near sighted and you have astigmatism. The first numbers (-0.25) are the "sphere" of your contacts. The bigger the number, the stronger the correction. A negative number means near sighted correction and positive numbers are for those who are farsighted. The next two numbers (0.75, 120 and -1.75, 080) have to do with astigmatism correction. "BC is 8.6, DIA 14.5." BC means Base Curve, the curvature of the lenses and DIA is the diameter of the lens. I'm glad you're happy with your contact lenses. I wish you many years of crisp, comfortable vision. |
