Question New Guy Thinking of Contacts

Hello.

I have worn glasses for the past 33 years, and am considering contacts.
My eye Dr. is getting me a trial pair, that will be in next week- but she is not confident that they will stay in place due to the degree of my astigmatism.
I have been reading up on the Acuvue for Astigmatism and I have not seen a whole lot about lenses moving.
Is this a valid concern ?

These lenses stick to your eye like glue...

They can be hard to get in place on certain days, but once they are in place...you really have to try to move them.

One of the biggest complaints on these lenses is normally how hard they are to take out because they stick to your eyes too well. So I don't see that being an issue with you.

You should be just fine with these lenses. They stay in place really well.

I started wearing contacts again after about 25 years and got an AOA; it's great, very easy to get used to and as noted before the only problem is that sometimes it is hard to get out.

Congratulations on getting contacts. One piece of advice though - keep your glasses. They'll come in handy when you don't want to deal with the discomfort of lenses.

That's a good idea. You should also keep your glasses for those times when--no matter how careful you are--you lose or damage your contact lenses.
