I remember seeing a sitcom in which the Mom was feeling blue because she felt a middle aged crisis when she turned 36. Her teenaged daughter tried to help by saying "Mom, the average life span now is 72 years, so for you to be middle aged you'd have to be at least . . ." Then she stopped.
