Default Clear Care & Oasys

I have been using Acuvue Oaysis for just over a month now (though wearing contacts off and on for over 8 years for distance vision). Was using B&L BioTrue cleaner.

I am also pregnant with baby #4.

I had been having some intolerance to my contacts - dry eyes, irritation, some days they felt great, while others, they were uncomfortable. I have been wearing my glasses more frequently than I normally do.

Someone told me about Clear Care, so I bought that. I had just opened a new left eye lens a few days ago, and then needed a new right lens yesterday. The left eye was soaked in the clear care for the first time the night before, when I placed the lens in, I noticed some blurry vision, but not in the right. I wore them for about half the day and wore my glasses for the remainder of the day. I put both contacts in the clear care solution at about 2pm yesterday. I woke up this morning and just put my glasses on, then about an hour ago, I put my contacts in (2:15pm). I noticed the blurry vision immediately in the left eye yet again, but NOT in the right.

Could this be because the left eye had been cleaned with the BIOTrue for the first few days, and THEN the Clear Care, while the right lens has only been cleaned by the Clear Care?

It's possible that the two lens cleaners may be incompatible, but I couldn't tell you for sure.

It's been a few months, now. Are you having any more trouble with blurred vision while wearing your contacts?

That would be a good reason why we haven't heard from her. We'll have to wait and see if we hear from her again.

Just giving a shout-out here to Clear Care. I am very pleased with it.

I've worn soft contacts in the past and always had issues with excessive protein build-up, even after using enzymatic cleaners periodically to remove it. Until now, I had never been able to wear my contacts for the recommended time allowed. In fact, i remember having to cut the wearing time in half with almost every pair.

Of course it could be the Acuvue Oasys/Clear Care Combo. The Oasys is made with a different material than the others. What i know is that I no longer have to worry about protein build-up. Today is the last day (2 weeks is the recommended wear time) for this pair of lenses and in fact, they feel as good if not better than they did when they were brand new. I kid you not folks. :-)

What did you use before you switched to Clear Care?

Oooh, I'm sorry i took this long to respond but i just forgot to check back.

Before I switched to Clear Care, I used Biotrue Multipurpose solution. I was pleased with the Biotrue, and every few days i would use Walgreen brand super strength daily cleaner, but my lenses just didn't stay comfortable all day like they now do since I've started with the Clear Care. The truth is that I wasn't even aware that it was that much of an issue; I just figured that i was asking a lot by expecting my lenses to feel good all day. But after using Clear Care, they DO. I'm sure i sound like a commercial, but i am not affiliated with the makers of Clear Care. I really like the stuff though!

I'm glad you like the Clear Care. Lots of people on this forum like it too.

In one of your earlier posts you said something about protein buildup. Is that what happened with Biotrue?

Hello Anazak. I only used Biotrue for a couple of weeks so I dont really know for sure if the 'discomfort' was from protein buildup or something else. What I do know is that I have clear comfortable lenses until i take them out each night fourteen, sometimes fifteen hours later, since I've been using the Clear Care.

Good. Now you can do a commercial. "Clear Care worked for me!"

Then you give them that big smile.

Yeah, it sure does seem to work well. Can anyone else here get fifteen hours from their Oasys contact lenses with their doctor's approval?

Yeah, make sure to mention that "doctor's approval" part. It's very important.

Let's hear it for Clear Care. I've not heard a lot of negative things about it here. Is that basket thing hard to figure out how to use?

Fifteen hours seems like a long time. Aren't you suppose to take them out after twelve hours?

I suppose it would depend on your eyes but I thought I heard that twelve hours was the limit as well.

I haven't used the Clear Care system, but how hard can it be?

Default You Can Do Use the Clear Care System

It can't be that hard. There aren't a lot of moving parts and I'm sure it comes with instructions. I think anyone who's capable of wearing contact lenses and is smart enough to use Clear Care will be well-equipped to deal with that contraption.
