Default Oasys with Antistigmatism - Comfort

Hello,

My optometrist wants me to decide between Bausch and Lomb's SofLens Toric and Acuvue's Oasys. I've tried both, and I find that Acuvue feels thicker, but less blurry than the SofLens Toric.

Any advice?

Go with the less blurry Acuvue. Chances are you'll get used to the thicker lenses.

Are the Acuvue lenses uncomfortable, or do they just feel different?

They feel thicker, and I can sometimes really feel the edges (circumference) of the lenses

Well, are they so uncomfortable that you'd be willing to put up with the blur you get from the SofLens Toric Lenses for a more comfortable lens?

Good question, Petra. I guess that's what it comes down to.

I'm pretty awful at making these decisions. Either way, it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario. =(

Oh, I wouldn't say that. The way I see it, (No pun.) I'd rather wear lenses that improve my vision, even if they're a little uncomfortable at first. That's the point of contact lenses, isn't it? If your vision is still blurred, it doesn't matter how comfortable the lenses are. Go with the Acuvue contacts.

I agree with Petra. The reason people wear contact lenses is not because they're comfortable, but because they're invisible. If you ask someone why they wear glasses instead of contact lenses, most will tell you it's because they're afraid that contact lenses will be uncomfortable.
