Unhappy New to contacts- blurry vision help!

Hello, I was wondering if I could get some advice.
I'm extremely new to the Oasys and contacts in general (got them just 2 days ago) and I'm not really sure about what's going on with them. I put them on and and my vision is horrible. Most things are somewhat clear (at times), but I can't read at all, especially white letters, they look as if they're glowing. It's so frustrating, it gets to the point where I have to switch back to my glasses because I can't see.
The day I got them, I complained that I couldn't see clearly and the people at the eye place told me to give the contacts a few days and they should clear up. I've been googling around and see that I'm not the only one with this problem.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening? What other brands are out there for people with myopia? Thank you to anyone with answers!

Okay, let me ask you a dumb question as a starting point. Just to clarify, when you got fitted for your contacts, they gave you an eye test to determine your prescription, and then they gave you a trial pair that made everything look sharp and clear, right?
