Hello all,
I am a new contact lens user, I'm still trying out different trial pairs. I started with sofmed 55, then moved onto Avaira. Today, I will be picking up my trial pairs of Acuvue oasys. I researched, and found that some people love it, and others hated it. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground. But, I also found that the problem might have to do with the lens solution. Right now, I use Opti-free replenish, and most of the problems with acuvue that I have read about, have been with users that use Opti-free. I have heard that Clear Care is really good. My question is this: do you think that I should start with Clear Care? Or do I continue to use Opti-free, then when I experience any problems, switching to Clear Care? P.S. I will be discussing this with my doctor, but I wanted different opinions. ![]() |

I used Opti-free with my Oasys lenses and had nothing but problems. They felt dry and gritty. I have changed to a similar solution to Clear Care and haven't had any problems since. |

I use Opti-free with my Oasys lenses and I have no problems whatsoever. I recently switched to Oasys about a month and a half ago after wearing Acuvue 2 for about 6 years. I used Opti-free with those as well, and it was the same- never a problem.
But then again, one thing to remember is everyone is different as far as what lenses their eyes can tolerate, and that goes for solutions as well. You might need to experiment until you find the right combination, although I have only good things to say about Opti-free solutions. Best of luck! |
