This seems like a friendly forum. Hopefully I can get some good help here.

I am a 31 y/o male. I've been wearing glasses for 20+ years. I am nearsighted with a very small amount of astigmatism in my right eye. I tried "hard" contacts in my teens and hated the sensation.

After hearing that I could now probably wear soft contacts, I decided to get checked out. Sure enough, soft contacts will work for me! My doctor set me up w/Acuvue Oasys for left eye and Acuvue Oasys Toric for my right eye.

On the positive side: The contacts are perfectly comfortable--both the normal and the toric lens.

On the negative side: I wore my contacts for 4 hrs. the first day and 6 hrs. the second day, but they have never been sharp. There is a significant difference in sharpness between the contacts and my glasses.

Also, my contacts constantly "blur over", becoming blurry until I blink. They will then clear for a bit, and then begin blurring again. This is very very annoying, and has not improved.

Also, the contacts seems to have trouble focusing quickly between two different distances--especially up close. If I am watching TV and then look down at my phone, for instance, it is very blurry.

I don't want to be a complainer, and I want to give these a chance to work. However, it just seems ridiculous to spend hours of my day without anything close to ideal sharpness. If this is what contacts are like, then they are not for me.

Or, is there something going on here that I need to get reevaluated for? I am not supposed to follow up with my doctor for over a week.

Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to offer.
