From Acuvue 2 to Oasys

I've heard that when people try to make the switch from Acuvue 2 to Oasys contact lenses, they find that their eyes burn and get red. I wonder if anyone else on this board has had this happen to them. Did you go back to Acuvue 2 or did you stick it out and decide that you liked the Oasys better?

I was using Acuvue Oasys for about 2 years up until Feb of 2009 when I started having problems. My eyes became severely red, actually that is an understatement. They were blood red. I had to completely stop wearing them. I visited my ophthamologist and received steroid treatments to clear that up. He never did say if he thought there was something wrong with the contacts themselves. He thinks I became severely allergice to the protein buildup on the lense themselves.(That's funny because I was routinesly using a protein remover!)I am now wearing Acuvue 1 day Moist and they are working fine. I am also on antihistamine treatments twice a day.

I use the oasys right now and can't stand them. They always fold when trying to put them in. I am looking to switch from them to something else. Get a sample and try them first before you make your final decision.

Well, I guess the people have spoken, and it sounds like they're not crazy about Acuvue Oasys contact lenses. It's unfortunate that so many people have had a problem.
