Sore Eyes From Acuvue Oasys Hydraclear Plus

These seem like very comfortable contact lenses, yet I hear that some people have a hard time with them. Their eyes are sore all the time. How could such a good contact lens cause trouble?

Yes, that's exactly what's going on with me! I just switched from Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism to Oasys for Astigmatism and I am unhappy with them! I have been wearing contacts for 25 years and have never had to return them but with these I am. My eyes are getting increasing irritated especially in the far corners, they stick to my eyes and there seems to be more of a film on them when I take them out.

What's the deal?

Well, it's been about six months since you originally posted this. How are you doing these days? Have you made your peace with Oasys for Astigmatism or have you found something else?

I have my occasional GPC episodes but I have never had this problem before! I decided to get online and research and found that alot of people are having allergic reactions to these Oasys contacts. I am switching to once dailies.

Hi littleartist. Welcome to Lens 101.

Tell me more about these problems with Acuvue Oasys. Are you sure these problems are caused specifically by allergic reactions or is it maybe over-reaction? Some people may call GPC "allergies" but that wouldn't always be correct. GPS isn't always an allergic reaction.

Have you made the switch to daily disposable contacts, littleartist? How are thing going for you these days?
