Default Would Acuve Oasys Be a Good Contact Lens for a Beginner?

As comfortable as Oasys is, would anyone here recommend them for someone who has never worn contacts before? What advice would you give this nameless newbie who may be surfing Lens 101 for your wisdom?

I have to believe Acuvue Oasys would be comfortable. Acuvue has been making lenses for years but if you're in doubt, ask your optometrist which lenses would be recommended for your eyes.

I think DarthAnakin was looking for a recommendation for his/her friend (the "nameless newbie") from your own experience. Have you tried Oasys contacts before?

These are the only lenses I know, I have now been wearing lenses for 3 weeks roughly.

After 2 hours I couldn't feel them. I did have watery and red eyes for the first day, a few people did notice....but it went away pretty fast.

They are tricky to put in, they do fold up on me sometimes. They are tricky to get out as they stick to your eye very well.

3 weeks plus one day and I am rubbing my eyes at night, so I will be starting a new pair tomorrow. I just got my year's supply yesterday.

I am now getting them in 1st or 2nd try every morning, it was pretty easy to master.

I don't miss my glasses at all.

I just started wearing contacts and I have the Acuvue Oasys. I think that they are fine. It took me a little while to get use to them but now I am fine with them.

I can't really say as I have never tried any other kind. This is my second week with them and from the beginning I haven't even been able to tell I am wearing contacts. I don't feel them at all. It's a great feeling!

I don't have any problems putting them in and infact they usualy won't even go in my eye if I have them the wrong way(they just sit there a second and pop out). No problem getting them off my finger.

My eyes don't get insanely dry but then again, I have dry eyes to being with, so I doubt any contacts would be perfect for me.

These are my first ever lenses and I've been wearing them for just 3 days. I can't feel them at all in my eye. But on the other hand, my vision usually blurs and my eyes feel a bit dry when i try to focus on something. but it gets back to normal once I stop concentrating on an object close to my eyes. Not sure if these lenses are fine for me in terms of keeping focus, but they are certainly very comfortable to start wearing lenses in general.

Hello bomb1977. You're not wearing your 1-2 week lenses every day for three weeks are you? It sounds like they feel pretty good as long as you don't wear them too long.

Are you able to put them in and take them out more easily now?

Hi Sabreuse. It seems like you and your Acuvue Oasys contacts are getting along great. You don't wear them for more than two weeks, do you? You're only supposed to be wearing these for a maximum of two weeks.
