Acuvue Oasys has been billed as one of the most comfortable contact lenses available. So how come people sometimes experience blurred vision after wearing these contact lenses for a few hours? Is it another case of contact lenses not being fit properly?

Me too. My original Rx was Acuvue Oasys but I noticed the blur, so I asked my doc to change the Rx and now I'm wearing Night & Day. My doc didn't explain anything about the blur effect (kinda disappointing) but I read some articles on the internet myself and found out it's the high water content that makes the lens blurred.

Now, perhaps you can explain to me, as well as the Folks at Home what "modality" is and why it affects the comfort level of the contact lenses? |

Hi guys. A contact lens newbie here (been wearing them for just 3 days). I went to the optometrist two days ago and explained that I spend around 14 hours a day in front of the screen (work-related). I knew nothing about contacts, but I googled some air optix night&day and aqua. He suggested that I used Oasys instead, as the most comfortable on the market.
I wore them for just 2 hours on the first day and they fit me perfectly. Yesterday I put them for 4 hours. But the minute I looked at a computer screen, I lost focus. The vision became blurred and I felt dryness in my eyes. I blinked but it didn't help. Then I looked around, blinked a couple of times and it got back to normal. No uncomfortable feeling, the focus returned. But the minute I looked back at the screen, it got all blurry and felt dryness again. Now, after i took them out, I feel dryness and ache in outside corners of my eyes. I have my next appointment with the optometrist in 12 days, but I'm not sure what to do until then. Shall I insist that the optometrist gave me air optix aqua to try next time? Thanks for your suggestions. |

Whenever someone mentions "patients" in their post, it makes me think that I'm reading words typed up by a doctor. Is this the case with your posts too, myopicqueen?
