Hi everyone,
I just opened up a new pair of Oasys contacts two days ago. Two days in, I decided to switch to Clear Care solution. Is it okay to just use it now, or should I wait until I open up my next pair of lenses? Thanks so much! |

What were you using before your planned switch to Clear Care? In theory, you are not supposed to mix different lens care solutions, so if you were using a Multi Purpose Disinfectant solution based on Biguanide, then you shouldn't use it at the same time as a hydrogen peroxide system (such as Clear Care). I understand the reason is because of possibly differing pH of the solutions. However, I would probably rinse the lenses thoroughly with saline solution when I took them out of my eye at night and then put them into the Clear Care solution overnight. There will be very little Biguanide left on the lenses especially after rinsing with saline. But don't use the Biguanide solutions again once you start using the Clear Care. knotlob |

It's been over six months since we've heard from you. How did you solve this dilemma?

Don't worry about pH. They should be same for both, considering that pH indicates acidity, and acidity needs to be at the right level for your EYE.
It's okay to switch from one to the other. I've done it plenty of times before. In fact, I usually use my enzymatic cleaner first (optifree) and then the hydrogen peroxide cleaner next. I love the hydrogen peroxide Clear Care solution, by the way. Enough to make a full explanation on my blog: :P http://scienceinproducts.blogspot.com/2011/01/clear-care-hydrogen-peroxide-lens.html Last edited by scienceinproducts; 01-22-2011 at 03:02 AM.. |

It looks like there is a new article there for Valentine's Day. Check it out and read about what they believe to be the origin of the"heart shape."
