Default questions about my contact sizes

hello all, well i just got fitted for contacts for the first time like 2 weeks ago. I have two prescriptions. One brand fits well, and the other not so. My doc prescribe me Focus Dailies bc8.6 d14.0. for acuvue2 she prescribe me bc8.3 with a 13.8d. i wanted color lenses, and she said that acuvue2 would fit me cuz my corneal are small. Well acuvue2 lens did not stay on my eyes as well as the focus 8.6. I also see through the opaque of the acuvue2. Does anyone have the same problem as i do? Could someone give me some insight on why my scripts are totally different?

Are your figures correct? Looks like you mixed up the diameters of the lenses.

According to Lens.com:

Focus Dailies, Base Curve 8.6mm, Diameter 13.8mm.

Acuvue 2, Base Curve 8.3mm or 8.7mm, Diameter 14.0mm.

You have small cornea, therefore small base curve, so your optician specified 8.3mm Base Curve.

The scripts are different because manufacturers only offer a limited number of Base Curve and Diameter options.

The optician should have checked your Acuvue 2 lenses on your eyes for fit. If the base curve is not correct you may need to try the 8.7mm option, but that is the optician's decision based on her examination of your eyes.

Your pupils may be bigger than the Acuvue iris opening if you are seeing opaque. You may have to look for a different lens.

The prescriptions are probably different because the various brands are made in slightly different ways. It sounds like the Acuvue 2 may have had a base curve that was too "steep" and so they didn't stay put on your corneas.

So do the Focus Dailies fit well?

yes, focus dailies are wonderful. i dont think acuvue2 is the right size for me, it moves so much and does not stay on my eye correctly., but the doc said, colors contact are like that. so i order some freshlook color daily disposable, because it uses the same prescription as focus dailies and it's wonderful. i think i need a second opinion on the acuvue2.

It's good that you like the Focus Dailies. Let us know if you are able to get a second opinion on the Acuve 2 contacts.

So your eye doctor said that color contacts never fit properly ["Color contacts are like that."] but your FreshLook Colors fit you? Have you told your eye doctor this?
