That looks like your prescription. Are they in columns or something? A typical prescription has three measurements for each eye. Look around Lens 101 for some other posts that explain contact lens prescriptions. I know there's at least two or three of them, and there's no need to repeat all that information here.

I hope you're not being sarcastic because Klingons4Peace did not break down each figure and explain it individually. Did you look for those posts that he mentioned? I tried and couldn't find them. I know I saw something like that before, but I can't find it just now. So I guess I'll break it down for you.

Below you see an example of a typical contact lens prescription. The note that your doctor give you will probably just have two numbers on it. The example below would say "8.3 14.0." 8.3 is the base curve if your contacts, which describes their shape. The diameter is the size of your contacts. The power is the strength. That's putting it very, very simply, so just ask if you need more clarification.

No, i had looked everywhere on this site before i asked the question, i could not find anything that would explain it to me. So that is why i asked the question. I felt with his response, that maybe i missed something, and i was so greatful that he suggested i look on the site again. So i looked again, and still must not be looking in the right area because i still could not find the information. In the future i will consider what i ask. Thank of u for explaining this to me it helped. Basically i was confused about the last part : x100.

Yup. I got it, except for that "x100" part.

Okay, let's try it again. From the top:

R: +1.00, -0.5x100
L:+0.75,-0.5x70
PD R: 31 L: 31

R & L = The [right and left] eyes.
The first number (+1.00 and +0.75) is the sphere power.
The second number (-0.5 same as -0.50 or -.50) is the astigmatism degree.
The third = x100 and x70 is the angle of the astigmatism.
PD: 31 means that the distance between the eye pupil to the NOSE is 31, not to the other . . . pupil.
