I need some help.
I can't seem to convince my friend to take her contacts out once in a while. She wears Acuvue contacts and she leaves them in for weeks at a time. She says that as long as they don't hurt and she can see out of them, she doesn't have to do anything with them. What can I tell her? Thanks. |

Saying that it's okay to wear your contacts for longer than their intended use because they don't hurt is like saying you can drive your car for 100,000 miles without changing your oil because it still runs. Keep it up and it won't run.
Tell your friend that if she waits until her eyes hurt or has vision problems to take her contacts out, it may be too late and serious damage may have already occurred. contact lenses are great for correcting vision and replacing glasses, but they're not that healthy for the eyes. They need to be changed regularly. I don't know why your friend is so reluctant to replace her contacts, but whatever the reason is, I doubt that it's a good reason to risk her eyesight. Good luck. |
