I was reading about Acuvue contacts when someone began writing about monovision contacts. Did someone write in the wrong section or do people use two Acuvue contact lenses sometimes for their monovision needs?

Absolutely! When I went for my first pair of contact lenses I was told about multifocal contacts and monovision where one is for distance and the other eye for reading. Since I have a condition that I do not have "binocular vision" anyway I tried the monovision and acuvue oasis was the first lens I tried then the one day acuvue moist with a different correction for each eye which never phased me as I had been using only one eye at a time any way due to the exotropia condition which I tried to have corrected surgically with out results.

Exotropia is when one eye turns outward to the outside of your face. Its actually a form of strabismus or "cross eyes" Some people have esotropia where one eye turns inward toward the nose. There are also forms where the eye can turn up or down but all are forms of strabismus commonly known as cross eyes. When one eye turns rather than working with the other eye and focusing on whatever the person is looking at it causes distortion of vision and I have double vision but was told eventually the brain learns to "ignore" or turn off the extra image so I am not even aware of having double vision most of the time but I guess the eye doctor can tell.

Hmm... That someone definitely made a mistake when he posted something about monovision here. This thread is mainly for the purpose of discussing Acuvue.

Look again. Petlover1 said that he/she has used Acuvue Oasys and One Day Acuvue Moist lenses for monovision.
