Thread: Adjustment time needed?

    Default Adjustment time needed?

I have been wearing my lenses for about 10 days for presbyopia (did I spell that right??)- I am 47 and have been wearing progressive lense glasses for a bit over a year. It took me several weeks to get used to those. Is their light at the end of the tunnel here??

Sure there's a light at the end of the tunnel. First of all, you spelled "presbyopia" correctly. (However, there's only one "e" in "lens.") I think if you can get used to the progressive glasses, then the contact lenses shouldn't be a problem for you to adapt to. If it gets to be more than four or five days, ask your eye doctor about the lenses; maybe you need a refit or just some help adapting.

Let us know how it works out, okay?

LOL, thanks, I spelled the HARD one right, but not the easy one! I did already have one adjustment, so actually THESE lenses I have been wearing since Saturday (so 4-5 days since I didn't really use them for reading/computer much until yesterday). Total I have had contacts for 10 days. I have another follow up on Saturday this week. THANKS!

You can blame your spelling mistake on that.

So today, I am struggling to focus again...it seems to be from the right eye. Yesterday was better and this is really frustrating me.

What kind of problems are you having, lisa3girls? Just fuzzy vision or are there other issues?

Fuzzy vision, like fighting double vision-- it seems to stem for the right eye. If I cover the right eye, it isn't too bad. It is especially difficult with my laptop, but I am a consultant and have to use my laptop all the time.

I guess for now we'll just have to wait and see what your eye doctor says. I hope you have a helpful visit.

Does it get a little bit better each day?

It was with the first pair...the second pair no, not at all. I saw the doctor this weekend and he suggested I try the first pair again for a week, and also try a modified monovision (left eye from 2nd pair, and one mono vision in right eye)-- I didn't like that so much. So now I am wearing the first pair, I think I am going to llike those as I am posting here now and it isn't too bad.

I hope you finally found the solution. Please keep us informed about how you're doing.
