I have been wearing contacts since August after 25+ years of only wearing glasses. I always said I didn't want anything directly in my eye. Well, I got tired of glasses and decided to try contacts. I like them. took me a week or two to get used to inserting and removing them but by now, I'm ok with it.
I am wearing AirOptix Aqua -1.25 in my left eye, 0.50 Astigmatism right. Both lenses are now working out pretty good for me. I was given PureMoist CL solution at the beginning. I thought I liked it and also started using the matching rewetting drops. The issues started after about 1 month. I would leave the lenses in for a few days and I ended up with "albino eyes". I'd leave them out for 3-4 days, wore my glasses, then start again with contacts (I did not leave them in overnight). Same issue again after a few days of wearing the contacts. Eyes got red, burning, very dry...... I was almost ready to give up when it dawned on me that it MAY be the solution. I switched to ClearCare with an additional saline rinse before inserting the contacts (I do not trust the little silver disc completely so I use the saline just in case the disc didn't work right and didn't neutralize the hydrogen peroxide... No problems with red eyes since the switch, I am even able to leave them in for 3-4 days straight - yes, they are approved for extended wear!). Also no longer using the PureMoist drops, I switched to B&L Sensitive Eyes Rewetting drops with OptiFree Replenish for protein deposits. i'm glad I didn't give up on contacts but instead decided to play with the numerous solutions available. Moral of the story: If you are having issues with your contacts, consider changing solutions and/or rewetting drops. Your problem might be solved, mine seems to be! |

Do you think you'll eventually get to the point of "trusting" the Clear Care disc and skipping the saline? It will save you a little money and time.

I doubt it. I am a nurse and had peroxide splash into my eyes years ago. Burns like hell! Lol! So, I think I'll just spend the extra few bucks a month - just to be sure & to make myself feel better......

well, I certainly understand your reluctance to let any more peroxide get in your eyes. If peace of mind is worth a few extra bucks a month, so be it.
