Default Air Optix Aqua With Clear Care

Did you ever try the Clear Care cleaning system for your Air Optix Aqua contacts? If you've never heard of Clear Care, here's what their website says:

"The exceptional cleaning action of hydrogen peroxide.

With the exceptional cleaning action of hydrogen peroxide, Clear Care cleans and disinfects lenses like no multi-purpose solution can.

Clear Care, with its triple-action power, bubbles to actively clean and remove protein from your lenses.

Clear Care kills germs and bacteria that can cause eye infections."

Just rinse, fill and soak.

You know what I'm talking about, right?

Agreed....clear care bar none is the best system keeping lipid and protein deposits off silicone hydrogel lenses.

Well, basically you bleach the contact lenses with this solution so yeah, it should clean them thoroughly.

You mean with the Clear Care, right? I find it helps to use that "Quote" button so people know what I'm talking about.

I just thought it would have been more helpful to give a complete answer so people could understand you more readily. It was a good answer. Answering a question by restating it or quoting it is just a good habit to get into when working on forums like this one.

Only problem that i see with peroxide solutions is that if you fall asleep in front of TV and wake up at 2:00 AM at which point you remove the lenses and you have to wake up at 6:00 AM afterwards, there is not enough time for the solution to neutralize and you can't insert the lenses which is a bit of a problem. Where with MPS solutions, you still meet the minimal 4 hour soaking time or even if you do it less, it's not ideal but you can still wear them and it's still better than not soaking them at all.

Unless it's possible to throroughly soak contacts with saline and neutralize the peroxide instantly that way.

hydrogen peroxide is highly oxidative so a saline soak will not remove traces of h202.

Do any of you remember the two step h202 systems now defunct but I use to use them like years ago.

The coopervision mirasept system which had a neutralizing saline solution the soak and neutralize the h202.

And the Allergan oxysept system.....same idea you soak your lenses in h202 then you filled the lens case with the neutralizer.

and lastly cibavision in a wink system.

I miss those two step hydrogen peroxide/neutralizer systems.

i find clearcare sometimes burns and the neutralization is incomplete, although it doesnt happen that often only reaching the end use cycle of the clear care lens case.
