Default A Optix for Astigmatism intendend for overnight wear?

I am currently on Biofinity Toric contact lenses, my Doctor gave me a trial pair of Air Optix when I went to see her the last time because my prescription changed, it actually went down. I was having horrible headaches with both, contacts and glasses. One of the Air Optix is Toric for my left eye, the other one is Air Optix Aqua for my right eye.

I do not have any appetite to sleep with my contact lenses. The Biofinity I am currently wearing are intended for overnight wear. The reason I wear these is because of my life style. My normal day starts at 7AM and sometimes doesn't end until 10PM. At 10PM is when I remove my contacts, and clean them with my MPS solution of choice Clear Care.
On weekends only wear my contact for no more than 12 hours, from 8:00AM - 8:00PM.
My Doctor has recommended overnight wear contact lenses to me based on my life style. She says they allow more oxygen to get to my eyes.

When she gave me the Air Optix I forgot to ask her if they are intended for overnight wear.

Are Air Optix contact lenses intended for overnight wear?.

they are approved for up to 7 days continuous wear(extended wear) but that totally depends on your eyes and how they react to a lens overnight on your eyes.

Please check in with your eye doc if your eyes are suitable for extended wear!?

So they are approved for 7 days continuos wear (extended wear) or two weeks?

The Biofinitys I am currently wearing are approved for 30 days continuos wear (extended overnight wear).

Thanks for the info. As I indicated in my original post I do not have any appetite to sleep in with my contacts, the only reason I wear extended wear contacts is because of my busy life style, the amount of hours I wear my contacts on a daily basis. No matter what I do not sleep with my contacts, but that's just me.

Thanks so much for the info.

Most people on this forum agree that some contact lenses can be slept in with no ill effects. Others (for some as yet unexplained reason) will never, ever sleep in contact lenses, even for just one night. I suppose there's no harm in this, and it will probably make the lenses last longer, but I think it scares people unnecessarily.

I know that Bioininfinity is supposed to be for night wear too, if we want to do so/Not sure on the air optix one(astigmatism) necause there is another brand from the same manufacturer for night wear. Anyway, please check with ur optometrist/doctor.

By the way, which one are you choosing? I tried Bioinfinity too, and liked the lenses except for the part of geting them out - ugg, that was annoying. the lens never comes out on one try. I've tried Acuvue too and that is nice. Right now I'm doing my air optix trial which is also good.

Why are you trying so many different brands of contact lenses? Is it because you "lovecontacts"? How does you eye doctor feel about you trying three or more different brands?

lovecontacts go for the Air Optix.. they bring plenty of oxygen to the eyes, more than the Oasys.

I thought the Biofinity lenses are approved for 30 days of wear, that is, if you take them out, and only wear them part of the day, not all day & night.

Was I given wrong information on this?

(sorry to go OT on this Air Optix thread, but someone else "started it" )

According to Lens.com Biofinity lenses are categorized as monthly disposable. Even Coopervion.com lists them as monthly.

That doesn't mean that some people aren't told by their eye doctors to change their Biofinity lenses on a different schedule due to the unique characteristics of their eyes.
