Hi I'm Vincent
Brand: Air Optix for Astigmatism This is the prescription for my right eye: Power/Sphere = -2.5 BC= 8.7mm DIA= 14.5mm Cylinder= -0.75 Axis= 0 degre Apparently, this lens does not come in a 0 degree axis. Do you know if the 0 degrees is equivalent to another axis. Thanks for the answer. Best regards |

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you will get loads of useful information here. Now to your question. I'm no expert in astigmatism but the problem is your cornea is no longer spherical and therefore a cylinder correction needs to be applied to restore sharp vision. I would hazard an informed guess that 0 deg cylinder is equivalent to 180 deg cylinder. i.e. an upside down cylinder, like looking at North instead of South. Maybe someone else can confirm this later. knotlob |

An Axis of 0 degrees is the same as an Axis of 180. Both numbers lie the same way across your eye. It's weird that they wrote an Axis of 0 degrees. Usually it's given within the range of 1-180 degrees

Hey, thanks for this thread, folks. I learned something about astigmatism today. Apparently it's not a mistake to put 0 for the axis measurement on your prescription and it's the same as 180. Like they used to say in school: "0 is to 180 as right is to starboard." Cool.
